Free Will

I once read something interesting whilst searching to see if our life was already planned out for us, if we had a ‘destiny’ or a certain ‘path’.

This was before I had learnt a lot more on my journey.

It explained to imagine yourself in a maze, as a mouse, surrounded by many different directions each with a piece of cheese. The pieces of cheese are life events, tests, relationships, sorrow, loss, achievements etc.

You, as the mouse can choose any direction in that maze, reach each piece of cheese and fulfill everything laid out for you, however because of free will and the fact that you can choose which direction to take, you may miss certain events and experiences.

You can of course tune in to your inner guidance on which path to take, by becoming still and listening to your intuition. It takes practice but it’s readily available if you’re willing to listen. Sometimes this is just a ‘gut feeling’ when you know when you should or shouldn’t do something.

I thought the mouse and maze was a nice way to sum it up.

So yes, I’d say we have our paths laid out for us, but because of free will we may not fulfill all that is planned. The same goes for asking for guidance. Spirit are there waiting to help us, but only if we set the intention, again because of our free will, they cannot intervene without our permission-So just ask.
